1. Scope and operator

This Policy applies to VoteMySite.com, its Control Panel, public rankings, site listings, voting and rating tools, voting codes, tracking images, sliders, popups, banners, statistics, reviews, email communications, and related services. VoteMySite.com is owned and operated by Dot Coms, Inc. Privacy questions and rights requests are handled through Client Assistance.

This Policy does not govern the independent sites listed on VoteMySite.com. Those sites have their own operators, privacy practices, cookies, content, and legal obligations.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Account and authentication information

When an account is created or managed, we may collect a username, account owner identifier, email address, password credential, notification preference, two-factor authentication setting and secret, session identifiers, account status, and information used for login, recovery, and security.

2.2 Site listing information

We collect information submitted for each site, such as the site URL, short URL, title, description, category, banner image or banner URL, dimensions, listing identifier, join date, activation status, ownership relationship, edits, and other custom fields enabled on the submission form.

2.3 Voting, traffic, and ranking information

When visitors load voting code, open a voting prompt, visit a listing, cast a vote or rating, enter VoteMySite.com from a listed site, or leave VoteMySite.com for a listed site, we may process activity information used to calculate statistics and rankings. This may include:

• site listing identifiers and the event associated with the listing;
• unique and total pageviews, votes, incoming activity, and outgoing activity;
• IP address, timestamp, session state, request details, and anti-abuse indicators;
• rank history, rating totals, vote counts, inactivity information, and aggregated statistics;
• referring or destination information when technically available.

IP addresses and related signals may be used to distinguish unique activity, limit repeated voting, prevent fraud, investigate suspicious traffic, and protect the integrity of rankings.

2.4 Banner, review, and other submitted content

We may collect banners, screenshots, reviews, ratings, messages, reports, and other content submitted through enabled features. Content intended for a listing may become public.

2.5 Support and communications

When you contact Client Assistance or communicate with VoteMySite.com, we may receive your name, email address, account or site identifiers, message content, attachments, technical details, and information needed to investigate or respond.

2.6 Technical and server information

Our hosting environment and software may automatically process standard technical information, including IP address, browser or device information, operating system, requested URL, date and time, error information, security events, and server-log data. We use this information for operation, security, diagnostics, capacity, and abuse prevention.

3. Sources of information

Information may come directly from account holders, visitors, voters, reviewers, browsers and devices, sites that install VoteMySite code, server and security systems, service providers, public site content, and communications submitted through Client Assistance.

4. How we use information

Dot Coms, Inc. may use information to:

• create, authenticate, secure, recover, and administer accounts;
• create, review, publish, categorize, edit, suspend, and remove site listings;
• deliver voting buttons, links, sliders, popups, tracking images, and related code;
• record, validate, aggregate, display, and analyze votes, pageviews, incoming activity, outgoing activity, ratings, and rankings;
• identify duplicate activity, bots, fraudulent voting, manipulation, abuse, security threats, and prohibited sites;
• display public listings, banners, rankings, reviews, statistics, and featured content;
• send account, security, password-reset, two-factor, moderation, service, legal, and optional news communications;
• respond to support, privacy, removal, copyright, abuse, and legal requests;
• maintain, troubleshoot, improve, and protect VoteMySite.com;
• enforce the Terms of Service and comply with legal obligations.

5. Public information

VoteMySite.com is a public site directory and ranking service. Information intended for publication may include the site URL, title, description, category, banner, listing identifier, rankings, vote totals, pageview totals, outgoing totals, join date, reviews, ratings, and related listing information. Public information may be viewed, copied, indexed, cached, or archived by search engines and third parties.

Do not submit confidential information, private personal information, regulated data, or content you do not want publicly associated with a site listing. Account passwords, two-factor secrets, and non-public account email addresses are not intentionally displayed as normal listing content.

6. Legal bases for processing where applicable

For users in jurisdictions that require a legal basis, processing may rely on:

• Contract and requested services: to create accounts, publish listings, provide voting codes, and deliver statistics.
• Legitimate interests: to operate a site directory, calculate rankings, prevent abuse, secure accounts, maintain records, and improve the service.
• Consent: for optional communications or non-essential technologies where consent is required.
• Legal obligations: to comply with law, legal process, regulatory duties, and valid requests.

7. How information is disclosed

• Service providers: hosting, infrastructure, email, security, backup, technical, and support providers may process information to perform services for us.

• Business changes: information may be transferred in connection with a merger, reorganization, acquisition, asset transfer, financing, or similar business event involving Dot Coms, Inc. or the service.

At the effective date of this Policy, VoteMySite.com does not sell personal information for monetary consideration and does not knowingly share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If these practices materially change, this Policy and any required user choices will be updated.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

VoteMySite.com uses cookies and similar technologies for session management, account login, remember-me functionality, two-factor authentication, security, user preferences, and voting-widget behavior. Some voting widgets may use browser session storage or a session cookie to remember that a visitor closed a widget during the current browser session. Details are provided in the Cookie Policy.

9. Site-owner responsibilities for installed code

Site owners who install VoteMySite code are responsible for their own privacy and cookie notices, legal bases, consent mechanisms, and compliance obligations. The installed code may communicate with VoteMySite.com to identify the relevant listing, load a voting interface, register incoming activity, or remember a widget dismissal. Site owners must not install code on sites they do not control and must disclose the integration where required.

10. Data retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain rankings and statistics, secure accounts, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, comply with law, and preserve legitimate business records. Retention periods vary by information type.

• Account and listing information may be retained while an account or listing remains active and for a reasonable period afterward.
• Session records without remember-me status are generally designed to expire after a limited period; remember-me sessions may remain active longer.
• Voting, ranking, and aggregate statistics may be retained to preserve historical totals and service integrity.
• IP and anti-abuse records may be retained as needed to detect repeated activity, investigate manipulation, and protect the service.
• Backups, logs, and legal records may remain for a limited period after deletion from active systems.

We may retain information longer when required by law, a legal hold, security needs, fraud prevention, or an unresolved dispute.

11. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and operational measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, misuse, alteration, and loss. Measures may include access controls, secure connections, authentication protections, session controls, backups, software updates, monitoring, and restricted administrative access.

No site, transmission, database, or security measure can guarantee absolute security. Users are responsible for strong passwords, secure email access, two-factor authentication when available, safe devices, and prompt reporting of suspected compromise.

12. International access and transfers

VoteMySite.com is accessible internationally. Information may be processed or stored in the United States or other locations where Dot Coms, Inc. or its service providers operate. Those locations may have privacy laws different from the user's jurisdiction. Where required, reasonable safeguards will be used for applicable international transfers.

13. Your choices and rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, or information about disclosures and processing. You may also update certain account and site information through the Control Panel.

To submit a privacy request, contact Client Assistance. We may need to verify identity and authority before acting. We may deny, limit, or retain information where permitted or required by law, including for security, fraud prevention, legal claims, recordkeeping, public information, or inability to verify the request.

14. California privacy information

Where the California Consumer Privacy Act and related law apply, California residents may have rights to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, request deletion or correction, obtain information about sources, purposes, and recipients, and receive equal service without unlawful discrimination for exercising privacy rights.

Categories described in this Policy may include identifiers, internet or electronic network activity, account information, commercial or interaction information, and user-submitted content. VoteMySite.com does not knowingly sell personal information for monetary consideration. Requests may be submitted through Client Assistance. Authorized agents must provide documentation sufficient to verify authority.

15. European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and similar rights

Where applicable, users may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object, and receive portable data, and may lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority. Requests are generally handled within the period required by applicable law, subject to identity verification, extensions permitted for complex requests, and lawful exceptions.

16. Children

VoteMySite.com is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 may not create accounts, submit sites, upload banners, or provide personal information. If we learn that personal information was collected from a child under 13 without appropriate authorization, we may delete it and close the related account. A parent or guardian may contact Client Assistance regarding a suspected child account.

17. Adult-content prohibition and sensitive content

Adult sites and adult content are prohibited by the Terms of Service. Users must not submit sexually explicit content, adult banners, adult services, or content involving exploitation or minors. Users should not submit sensitive personal information through public listing fields, reviews, descriptions, or banners.

18. Email preferences

Account holders may be able to opt out of non-essential administrative news and promotional notifications. Essential messages relating to login, password recovery, two-factor authentication, security, legal changes, moderation, or service operation may still be sent.

19. External sites

When you follow a listing or advertisement to another site, that site's privacy policy applies. VoteMySite.com does not control third-party collection, cookies, tracking, accounts, transactions, or security. Review the destination site's policies before providing information.

20. Changes to this Policy

Dot Coms, Inc. may update this Policy to reflect changes in the service, technology, law, security, providers, or information practices. The updated version becomes effective when posted unless a later date is stated or additional notice is required.
